Tread in the footsteps of religious pilgrims during this private full-day tour to Fátima from Lisbon. One of the most important Catholic pilgrimages sanctuaries in Europe, Fátima is the town where, in 1917, three small children saw the Virgin Mary. Tour the homes where the children lived, visit the Sanctuary and Chapel of Apparitions and see the Basilica of the Holy Trinity. Attend mass in Fátima if you choose to. This private tour can be customized to suit your needs and includes round trip transportation from Lisbon.
You start your day doing all your religious and souvenir shopping in a quick stop at Fatima's shopping center so that you can have your objects blessed at mass in the Sanctuary. You will continue your drive to Aljustrel in order to visit the Little Sheppards’ Houses and places of the Angel’s 2nd Apparition. You will also visit Valinhos, where the Virgin appeared and Loca do Anjo – place of the Angel’s Apparitions. This is one of Fátima's most sacred and peaceful places. If the weather and timing is good you will still walk up to the Plith of the Hunagrians doing some of the Stations of the Cross.
After all the walking, you will head for a very deserved lunch! Next, you go to the Chapel of Apparitions and the Basilica of the Holy Trinity, which are different places of worship within the Sanctuary. Do not miss the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary, which holds the tombs of the now-deceased children who witnessed the apparition - Saint Francisco Marto, Saint Jacinta Marto and Sister Lucia. If you miss the 12:30PM service, no problem - you can do the afternoon mass. From May to October there will always be an English official Mass at the Sanctuary from Monday to Friday.
