Full description
Start your Fado tour of Lisbon with a typical dinner in the Alfama district. Find out about the local habits and cuisine in the city's oldest district, where fado was born in the early 19th century.
Then, wander down the alleys of the old part of town on a walking tour through Mouraria and Alfama (1 hour approximately).
End at a traditional Fado house and listen to the mournful melodies of Fado, a quintessentially Portuguese genre produced by a Portuguese guitar and characterized by heartfelt lyrics.
Lose yourself in the atmosphere and mood of the music. Fado was inscribed by UNESCO on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in November 2011.
