Full description

Get an intimate tour of Lisbon with your own personal walking guide, and enjoy an insight into the city’s history and traditions. View amazing sites, including Rossio Square, Restauradores Square, Lisbon Cathedral, and more. Meet your guide and step back in time to the 18th century when the city was destroyed by an earthquake and completely rebuilt. Stroll through Rossio Square, in the heart of both old and new Lisbon.

Look at the Obelisk in the center of Restauradores Square, commemorating the Restoration of Portugal's independence from Spain in 1640. Learn about the Carnation Revolution of 1974, at beautiful Carmo Square, where Portugal's dictatorial regime fell after 48 years.

Walk through the elegant Chiado neighborhood, and see old cafés, boutiques, theaters, and bookstores. Taste a typical Portuguese pastry (the famous Pastel de Nata) and then enjoy a short trip on one of Lisbon's vintage trams. Wander through the old maze of small squares and narrow alleyways of the Moorish Alfama neighborhood, where time seems to have stopped 1,000 years ago. Learn about Fado, Lisbon's own musical genre, as you walk past the Fado Museum, and some of Alfama's hidden Fado restaurants.

Stop for wine and a tasting at a bar and restaurant located in a medieval palace. Next, visit the 12th-century Cathedral, Lisbon’s oldest church, and end at Praça do Comércio, the former entrance hall of the city and one of Europe's largest and most beautiful squares. End your tour in Praça do Comércio, formerly the entrance hall of the city, one of Europe’s largest and most beautiful squares.

Ines was extremely knowledgeable and an exciting guide for our family. We did a private, 3-hour walking tour with 6 of us, and Ines was able to keep us all on track while walking through to all of the important spots in Lisbon. Ines was able to answer all of our questions and was even able to help us find more things to do as a family following our tour. We highly recommend this tour and specifically Ines as a tour guide!

Our guide, Beatrice was extremely knowledgable and fun to be with. We asked to move up our tour 2 hours because we had arrived so early from the states. And she did without any problem. She finished one tour and came right to us. She had enthusiasm and kept the 3 hour tour interesting.

Our tour was a great sampling of many parts, old and new.

Rachel was a superb tour guide and was patient while we shopped in a few of the stores we passed. She gave us the perfect amount of information, not overloading with names and dates but just enough to give us an overall view of the city's history. She was fun and a great guide.
