What to Expect
Escape the hustle and bustle of Lisbon for the day on a full-day tour of the Arrábida Natural Park. Start by crossing the Tagus River via the 25th of April Bridge. Make an optional stop at the Christ the King statue, and enjoy panoramic views of the Portuguese capital.

Continue to Azeitão to visit the famous ceramic tiles factory, one of the few left in the country that still uses traditional manufacturing techniques. Learn more about how the decorative tiles are made. Alternatively, (or in addition), visit a wine cellar for a wine tasting of the local wines.

Go to the fishing village of Sesimbra, and learn how its harbor served Portuguese ships during the “Age of Discoveries.” Pass the centennial castle, or make a detour to the cape of Espichel, where "dinosaurs paw prints gave rise to legends." Visit the "forgotten" church of the Lady of the Cape's sanctuary, before some free time for lunch.

Next, cross the Arrábida Mountain Range and its Natural Park (a designated area of special interest for nature conservation). Marvel at the vegetation and flora, and see the Lady of Arrábida Convent. Time permitting, you can take a quick swim in the sea at one of the local beaches.

Upon arrival at Setúbal on the estuary of the River Sado, look out for the resident dolphins, before exploring one of the largest commercial ports in Portugal. Enjoy stunning views of the Tróia Peninsula and its beaches. Go to one of the busiest markets in the region at Livramento Market to see, smell, and taste some of the local produce. Return to Lisbon via the vast Vasco da Gama Bridge.
