Hop into a game truck and ride around the park to observe the animals. Drive by the antelope area to watch these animals walking around. Go to the lion enclosures and see the cheetahs, hyenas, and leopards. Hear facts about the animals from your guide. Buy lunch and souvenirs when you finish. Come directly to the safari park to start your tour. Meet your guide and hop into the game truck to explore the different areas of the park. Visit the antelope safari area, and then check out the lion enclosures. Pass by the cheetah and wild dog enclosures too. Listen to commentary from your guide. Take some photos during the drive. Feel free to buy lunch in the restaurant after your safari ride. Have a drink at the bar as well. Also, buy some souvenirs of your safari to take home with you.

After morning pickup from your accommodation in Johannesburg or Pretoria, you’ll head out to the Lion Park. Your registered tour guide will take you on a tour through the Lion Park, a natural habitat only 45 minutes drive from Johannesburg. The park is home to more than 85 lions, including the rare white lion, among other carnivores like the cheetah, hyena, and wild dog. Afterwards, you’ll head in to Pretoria for a city tour. The capital of South Africa, Pretoria is home to a bevy of historic sites. Visit the Union Buildings, headquarters of the South African government, and wander through the beautifully terraced gardens. Then it’s off to the Voortrekker Monument, which commemorates the Great Trek, a mass movement of Afrikaner Boers who resented British rule. Next on the itinerary is the Paul Kruger House Museum, which showcases artifacts related to Paul Kruger, the 3rd president of South Africa from 1883-1900. Before the tour ends, you’ll view some of the architectural standouts of the city, like the Ou Raadsaal, Palace of Justice, and Capital Theater. Afterwards, you’ll be driven back to your accommodation, having seen the urban and rural highlights of a vibrant capital city.

Depart from your hotel at 8am and head towards the Lion and Safari Park located in the Cradle of Humankind, a World Heritage Site and one of the richest and most productive palaeo-anthropological sites in the world. The Lion and Safari Park is a 600-hectare wilderness reserve offering visitors an incredible opportunity to get up close to many of South Africa’s most iconic animals. Upon arrival, climb aboard a 4x4 safari vehicle for a one-and-a-half-hour game drive to see Africa’s predators, including lions, hyenas, wild dogs, cheetahs and leopards. The park’s knowledgeable guides will take you through the lion and wild enclosures, and take you to see three hyena species. During your game drive, you will also spot many other animals such as giraffes, ostriches and a variety of antelope species that roam freely on the reserve. When the safari tour has concluded, you are welcome to use the restaurant facilities at the park (at your own expense). The beautifully designed playground next to the restaurants will keep the young ones entertained. From the Lion and Safari Park, proceed to the Lesedi Cultural Village, located in the heart of the African bushveld amidst the rocky hills within the Cradle of Humankind, a World Heritage Site. Absolutely loved the tour ❤️ Our guide Dusty was fantastic, very knowledgeable, witty , helpful and friendly. We saw 3 different Lion prides, cheetahs, African painted dogs, leopards, different kinds of hyenas ( striped and spotted), wilder-beast, bushbucks, impalas , red hartebeast, kudus and got really really close to two giraffes. Even got to feed one of them. Absolutely recommend this experience .
