London: Historical Pub Walking Tour

1. London: Historical Pub Walking Tour

Enjoy an afternoon stroll through London's liquid history, pausing to quench your thirst in 4 of the city's most historic pubs. This tour of some of the city’s finest alehouses follows in the footsteps of legendary city chroniclers, such as Charles Dickens. Take a gentle 2-mile walk through some of London’s ancient streets, departing from St Paul's underground station and strolling along the "street of shame".  Throughout the tour, enjoy fine views, quirky history, and a drink or two along the way. Stop at no less than 4 different pubs to quench your thirst, with visits to taverns that date back as far as 1549. Your trip will finish close to the Strand and Covent Garden, where you'll be a short walk from the theaters, shops, and restaurants of London’s West End. Not to mention even more historic pubs if you want to carry on your liquid tour of London on your own.

Secret Gardens of London Full-Day Tour

2. Secret Gardens of London Full-Day Tour

Designed for garden lovers and lovers of flowers, this full-day tour of some of London's best-kept garden secrets goes beyond the usual tourist haunts of the capital. Starting at Trafalgar Square at the entrance to St. Martin-in-the-Fields Church, peek into the grounds of the nearby St. Paul's Artist Church, designed by Inigo Jones. Behind the church, opposite the Covent Garden entrance, is a lovely rose garden. Next head towards the delightful Lincoln's Inn Fields, London's largest city square, built in the 17th century. Adjacent is the John Soane Museum, home to many beautiful antiques, including some charming garden statuary. Walk through the square's bamboo garden to Temple Gardens, hidden amongst the Inns of Court. Drive to the Embankment, crossing the River Thames to the London Garden Museum. Excellent displays and a lovely knot garden from the 1600s await, as does a relaxing café, where you can refresh yourself with a cup of tea or coffee. The next garden on your tour is the famous Chelsea Physic Garden, established in 1673 and known for its apothecary plants and trees. One of their own gardener guides will walk you through the garden oasis, just a stone's throw from Sloane Square. Finally, go to Chelsea Physic Garden for a traditional English High Tea in an atmosphere of authentic British charm, and a visit of the surrounding gardens, including the beautiful sunken garden in the Palace grounds.
