We were contacted by our host, Gina, prior to the tour. This was our 30th anniversary and she proposed that instead of the usual walking tour, we take her car to a nearby village for our special occasion. What an absolutely wonderful day. Picked us up at the cruise port. Explained a lot about Cyprus and pointed a number of sites in route to a wonderful local winery well off the beaten path. Here we were treated to a wonderful tasting by the vintner and learned much about local wine making. Next we moved on to the local village with a wonderful church which was celebrating Raster Monday. The church contained an artifact containing pieces of the ropes that bound Jesus to the Cross. A once in a lifetime moment. Very special. Some shopping, tasting and sightseeing in the town, followed by a full Greek meze lunch. More food that can possibly eaten. Order less or you’ll be taking a lot with you. There’s not room to describe everything Just say, the tour and Gina are 5 star.
