This trip was incredible from start to finish! The convenience of hotel pickup and drop-off made everything so easy. The 2-hour boat tour to Ballestas Island was breathtaking, filled with amazing wildlife and views. Then, the sandboarding and dune buggy adventure was an absolute thrill—definitely a highlight! Traveling on a luxury bus added to the comfort, letting us relax between activities. Our bilingual guide was fantastic, offering helpful tips and insights along the way. Having free time to explore the Huacachina Desert Oasis was a perfect touch. This trip is well-organized and worth every penny! Highly recommend!

Long and rich of experience day tour, the guide Diego was very friendly. the price is higher than other tours but it is worth it, the bus is confortable. I recommand to traverlers to do this tour as a step to continue for Arequipa or Nazca and not coming back to Lima to avoid spending too much time on transport.

Full description

Discover the serene landscapes of the Peruvian countryside on a day trip from Lima to Paracas and Huacachina with hotel transfers included. See Humboldt penguins and sea lions on the Ballestas Islands and slide down the Huacachina dunes by sandboarding and dune buggy ride. 

Your adventure begins with an early-morning pickup from your hostel or hotel. From here, travel to Paracas, a beautiful small town by the sea, on a spacious bus where you'll be able to relax for the 4-hour ride. We are the ONLY company that offers luxury buses for the long journey, others use small minivans. Once in Paracas, begin a 2-hour boat tour of the Ballestas Islands, a smaller version of the Galapagos. Spot sea lions, penguins, and plenty of birds up close and all in their natural habitats. You may even get the chance to see a dolphin or two. Around lunchtime, it's time to move on from Paracas to Huacachina, a natural oasis located in the Ica Desert, home to the biggest sand dunes in South America. Enjoy some free time here.

Explore and have lunch (at your own expense) in one of the local restaurants around the oasis. Following lunch, it will be time for 2 hours of exhilarating dune buggy rides and sandboarding.

Dune buggy up the sand dunes and sandboard down these giant hills of sand, a once-in-a-lifetime experience in the only natural desert oasis in South America. In the evening, board your bus back to Lima. Once onboard, sit back and relax on the comfortable seats while you enjoy a movie on board. You will later be dropped off directly at your hotel/hostel upon arrival in Lima.

  • Pickup is available from all major hostels and hotels in Lima, customers staying outside of the center or at residential addresses should select the meeting point option
  • Pickup is available from hotels and hostels located in Miraflores, Barranco, some in San Isidro, and some in Lima downtown
  • You will return to Lima around 11:45 PM (Drop-off time will depend on the area you will be staying)
  • The tour runs with slight adjustments during the following holidays: Easter weekend (April 17-20) and Peru's Independence Day celebrations (July 25-28). The pick-up time will be 1 hour before the usual time

We really liked the organization. Super professional guide Sandra and driver Marco, also guides on the boat, who joked and was extremely interested in his work, that the driver of the buggy in the desert, very professional and calm The only thing we didn't like was that the ad for the trip said that we would go on a super comfortable bus, if by comfort they mean the presence of a toilet, then this is good, but unfortunately we didn't need it. We are tall, like most tourists, maybe we are the first to complain, but it is unlikely that when the passenger in front lowers the back of the seat, there is no legroom at all, and this is just terrible, especially if you are sitting by the window and cannot stretch your legs. On the way back we were lucky to choose a seat so that no one was sitting in front of us, but we suffered for the first part of the journey
