Full description
On the drive to the Pachacamac archeological site, your guide will provide an orientation about the culture and people that once lived there. On this half-day private tour, visit the site’s museum and its monuments. Take in the Temple of the Sun, the Old Temple, the Painted Temple, Taulichumbi Palace and more. Pachacamac was the major Pre-Hispanic ceremonial center on America’s Pacific Coast. See the buildings of the 4 known cultures that occupied the site over time. Enjoy views of the sea from the Temple of the Sun, the highest point in Pachacamac. Return to Lima and visit the district of Chorrillos, an area that played an important role in the war with Chile from 1879 to 1883. Later the tour continues to the Wetlands of Villa and the Costa Verde beach circuit. You will see a panoramic tour of La Herradura beach and the shanty towns of this neighborhood. Great day with great tour guide

Unfortunately I was sick this day but our tour guide Greta was fantastic, she did everything she could to make the day enjoyable regardless. Greta has a great knowledge of the sites and you could tell she was really passionate about everything discussed. Unfortunately we had to cut the tour short because I was so sick but we had a fantastic time and can’t thank Greta enough.

great tour in Pachacamac, a very short one in Barranco

Had a great discussion with the driver on the way to Pachacamac where a phantastic guide showed the whole area - very fascinating there! Only minus: there wasn´t really a tour through Barranco, I saw it only from the window of the car. So the focus was definitely upon Pachacamac (driving there 45 minutes, tour in Pachacamac 2 hours, way back 45 minutes)

Excellent activity for free time in Lima

Pachacamac is very impressive in it's overall size and proximity to the ocean with remains of many temples and other structures. The recently opened museum is nicely done. Barranco was very pleasant on a beautiful sunny morning for a look at one of Lima's different neighborhoods. Definitely worth doing this tour if staying in Lima.
