See the wildlife of the Ballestas Islands on a private tour from Lima. Go to the historical city of Ica and then marvel at the sand dunes of Huacachina, where you can practice adventure sports and enjoy a view of the sunset in the middle of the desert.
What to Expect
Depart Lima very early in the morning at 03:30 and travel south in the company of your driver and guide. Enjoy snacks and complimentary drinks on board the vehicle en route. As this is a private tour, you can request as many stops to take photos or stretch your legs as often as you like.
Arrive at Paracas at 07:30 and board a boat to the Ballestas Islands. Discover an uninhabited wilderness rich in marine fauna and animals such as the blue-footed booby, guanay guano bird, Humboldt penguins, sea lions and fur seals. Return to Paracas and take a look at the Candelabro geoglyph on the way. It is thought that it was used as a navigational guide and is part of Nazca culture.
Next, take a tour of the historical city of Ica and go to the main square and partially destroyed church named for the city's patron Our Lord of Luren. Discover the small community and mysterious village of Cachiche, believed to have been the home of many witches and alternative medicines.
Taste and purchase the best wines and piscos (the official Peruvian drink) in all their varieties in a typical local winery. Then, enjoy a wonderful lunch with a Chicha Morada (a non alcoholic purple corn drink). Next, go to the sand dunes and green oasis of Huacachina to discover a perfect spot to take part in buggy rides and sandboarding activities. Get a perfect view of the sunset in the middle of the desert, before the drive back to Lima at approximately 22:00.
