Embark on an incredible yacht tour to Palomino Islands and for the chance to witness Peru's incredible seabirds and marine wildlife and swim with thousands of sea lions in their natural habitat. First, get picked up from your hotel if you choose the relevant option when booking, otherwise make your own way to the meeting point in Callao. Start the tour from La Punta Bay where you will board a comfortable and safe yacht equipped with sophisticated navigation equipment, bathrooms, and other amenities. Sail out into the Pacific Ocean on an unforgettable 4-hour journey past the islands of Callao and along the coast of San Lorenzo Island. Pass a naval base and the El Frontón Island, where a maximum-security prison existed until the 1980s. Cruise along the coast of the Cabinzas Islands which are inhabited by several colonies of guano birds, until you finally reach the central attraction, the Palomino Islands. When you arrive, observe a colony of approximately 8000 sea lions, one of the largest in the area. Get kitted out with neoprene wetsuits and life jackets and take the opportunity to jump into the water as you get up close to these friendly animals. The tour will be under the surveillance and guidance of the experienced crew.

After the hotel pick up, the fun starts with the famous Magic Water Circuit at “Parque de la Reserva”, here you will get to feel like a child playing around the water fountains, then enjoy the light show about Peruvian dances, fauna and history. When the show ends, you will be driven to the city centre of Lima. You can walk around the historical centre and enjoy the night view of our main squares like Plaza San Martin and Plaza Mayor,  this will be a good time for pictures and afterwards you can visit a couple traditional bars to try Pisco sours, Peruvian cocktail made of Pisco.  On the way back, your guides will look for a place where you can feel the real Peruvian street food experience: depending on how you are feeling, they can search for everything from hamburgers to ceviches, anticuchos, and desserts. One final round of drinks will be provided for you at the end the night after which you will then go back to the hotel or wherever you request.

Upon its construction, the Magic Water Circuit made it into the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s largest water fountain complex in a public park. That in itself is quite impressive, but chuck in a series of really quite spectacular fountains and you have a destination that will keep kids happy and bring quiet smiles to even the most cynical of adults. This tour will start with a pickup from your hotel and you will then immediately go to the Magical Water Circuit. Upon arrival you will observe 13 cybernetic sources. You will also see a geyser that rises up to 80 meters. You will also be able to appreciate the largest water screen in the world, in which an audiovisual show is projected on its 95 meters high screen. After having toured the Magical Water Circuit, you will be taken back to your hotel.

Arrive just before sunset to experience the fountains in both the daylight and the dark. Take in the Fantasy Fountain water-and-laser-light show, which is set to music. Some fountains are interactive, such as the Tunnel of Surprises, the Labyrinth of Dreams, and the Walk-In Dome. You can try to stay dry as you step inside each one, but will certainly be prone to a splash here and there.

After pickup directly from your accommodation, head first to the Chorrillos Artisanal Fishing Pier, one of the popular trade points for marine products. Get to know the history of the pier before continuing to the Surquillo Market. The Surquillo Market become something of a mecca for international foodies after the praise of the famous Peruvian chef Gastón Acurio. The market is open every day and sees a large amount of food and spices sold. You can find exotic fruits from the Amazon Rainforest, potatoes and chili peppers from the tops of the distant Andes Mountains, fresh fish and seafood from the coast, and meats of different types, including alpaca and guinea pig. Taste some exotic fruits (cherimoya, granadilla, and tumbo) and the chicha morada (drink made from purple corn), then continue your gastronomic experience at two fast-food restaurants to taste their different specialties. At La Huerta Chinen, where they specialize in Creole mixes, you’ll get to try the famous Causa Limeña (mashed yellow potatoes seasoned with limes, chili peppers, and stuffed with chicken). At Alto K Fish, they specialize in seafood. You’ll get to taste their marine trio (fish ceviche, rice with seafood, and squid pork rinds). After delighting your palate, visit the historic center of Lima and walk through its old streets appreciating its impressive balconies, churches, and colonial houses. See the main square of Lima, the cathedral, the government palace, and the convent of San Francisco and its catacombs. Later, sweeten your palate by tasting Spanish churros (filled with manjar blanco or pastry cream accompanied with white sugar). Then, visit a local bar to learn about the flagship drink of Peru, the pisco sour (made from grape pisco, limos, syrup, egg whites, and angostura bitters). As a final stop, visit the Chabuca Granda avenue to try the Peruvian donuts known by the locals as picarones (made of sweet potato dough accompanied by honey).

Wonderful experience, if you get sea sick it might be a little rough (I typically don’t and the there were around 20 minutes where I really started feeling it) but if you are willing to put up with that it’s a really amazing experience. Be sure to bring a waterproof camera with you!
