Full description
This is a cooking class where you will learn to prepare the most important dishes of Peruvian cuisine, and about peruvian products in a local market. Get ready to enjoy, taste and be happy together with the chefs and the team, they will make your day unforgettable. This class is for people who love traditional food and want to make it at home! You'll love the relaxed atmosphere without boring demonstrations, because the chefs believe in the hands-on approach. To cook, use ceramic pots, the same as the ancestors did. This way keeps all the flavor natural. Choose from the following 4 great options featuring a variety of tasty dishes: Option 1, Fish: Main Course: "Pescado a la Chorrillana" , Fried onions, tomatoes, chili pepper and bay leaf, fish broth, and a Fish fillet cooked in low heat. Starter "Ceviche" the most popular dish among Peruvians. It is small size pieces of raw fish marinated in fresh aromatic lime juice tender onions, boiled sweet potatoes mixed with optional Andean hot chilis. Option 2, Chicken: Main Course: "Aji de Pollo" in English chili chicken (not spicy), consists of thin strips of chicken served with a creamy yellow and spicy sauce, made with ají amarillo (non spicy yellow chilis), cheese, milk, and crunchy bread. Starter: "Causa Limeña" Mashed organic yellow potatoes seasoned with lime and aji (hot pepper), and filled with fresh seasonal local veggies (it's a mild dish) Option 3, Meat:  Main Course: "Lomo saltado", Beef tenderloin slices, sautéed with onions, tomatoes, aji (hot peppers but not spicy), and more spices. It is served with French fries and rice. Starter: "Papa Rellena" Little balls made of mashed potatoes filled with either meat or vegetables or quinoa. They're fried and served with "salsa criolla " Option 4, Vegetarian: Main Course: "Pimento Relleno", a stuffed capsicum, filled with fresh organic vegetables, quinoa and aromatic herbs from the north of the country. We first went to a little cal market where the guide,Jose told us about veggies and fruits of Peru while the chef Ruth shopped for the meal we had chosen. Then in the kids chen we prepared the food Ruth was in charge and she easily prepared everything with our help in chopping and storing. Then we created our appetizer of potatoes, quinoa and avocado. So tasty As was the pan fried sea bass with a Peruvian sauce. The best meal we had in Lima. And we learned so much about Peruvian culture along the way bOne of our best excursions ever.

The experience has been great. The guide and the chef have been lovely. We learned to make cause and lomo saltado. The experience at the market where we bought the food beforehand has been great as well. I recommend this to anyone who values the human experience and the great taste of food.

David and our guide with Haku Tours were so amazing. This is a can't miss experience. Im inspired to cook more creative dishes when i return home. They were very knowledgeable and shared so many gyms avout food and Peru in general with us. Everything was so beautifully prepared (we were coached well!) and delicious. And the mounds of Peruvian fruit we tried were to die for.
