The City Pass made our visit to Lille very easy. It gives you maps and leaflets about what is in the area which make choosing what to do much easier. We got free entry into the Bellfrey, the Hospice, The natural History and Art Museum as well as two city tours (the main one and an old city one) as well as discount in various restaurants. (Seasons Cafe is not discounted here but was our favourite eating places we found so wanted to give them a review!) the only critisism was that lots of museums had not seen the pass and took a while to process it!

Very helpful staff in the tourist office. Booked guided bus tour as our first activity. As we were on an early tour and it was out of season we had the driver/tour guide to ourselves. He was informative and knowledgable and took his time to allow us to see everything. We proceeded to use the pass to travel by tube and bus to an art gallery and to visit the belltower and other museums. It would have been easy to make even more use of the pass as there was so much to do.

Don't bother if you are only in Lille for one or two days, unless you intend to use the transport to venture out of the city. The prices to get into the museums is very reasonable, and there no queues at all even in August. The city is also very walking friendly, so unless you want to go to an outlying district or a neighbouring town it is not worth the money, unlike the berlin City Pass. You do however get a free bus and walking tour, which are both worth taking.
