Full description

Get to know the city of Leipzig on this relaxed tour in red double-decker buses featuring the city's famous 'Messemännchen' mascot. This roughly 90-minute city tour takes you to Leipzig's most interesting sights, spaced out across 13 different stops. At any point, you can hop off at any of the stations, and hop back on whenever you'd like. The buses ride in regular, short intervals, so that you can stop or start at your own pace. The main meeting point for beginning or ending the tour is on Richard-Wagner-Straße. If you choose a day ticket, you will receive a free 45-minute guided tour in addition to the 90-minute city tour. The guided tours take place from March until the beginning of the Christmas Markets. Great that no tape is running, but the tour is commented live. It's bad that no attention is paid to Corona. No seats were "locked". Thus 50cm distance to the person in front. In general, you get the feeling that Leipzig hasn't noticed anything yet. At least in the barefoot alley! The tables in the outside area cannot be placed closer together

Although we were a little late and the bus had already started, we were of course still taken away. Everything was explained very well by the female guide and life in the GDR period was also "fun". It was all very entertaining and I can only recommend it with a clear conscience.

The trip did what I hoped: gave me an oveview of the city.

It was fine once it started. Being winter, the number of departures was reduced and I waited for it to start longer than my patience lasted. But I suppose that's inevitable as they can't afford buses going round empty. They need to install the recordings in other languages soon. My German wasn't really good enough to get the best from the commentary.
