this hike is a must-do. it is challenging but rewarding. your legs and body will be sore afterwards but you'll have had great exercise and memories that last forever. while some think this hike can be done on your own, a guide will help you stay safe and ensure your climbing techniques are correct. thank you Stephano for accompanying us and helping us with photos. appreciate your patience and guidance.

it was a 4.5 hour hike with 2 kids. the guide name was stephano. the guide explained about everything on the way . he helped us take short route which helped us a lot. this was our 1st time climbing mountain especially like this which was very challenging towards the end. he told us exactly were to keep our foot and keep going. I had no idea how we are going to go down this steep mountain. but he told us a trick and that helped us come down safely with kids. it took us 1.5 hr to reach bottom. the view from above was very nice. definitely worth getting a guide without whom this hike won't be possible for us. couple of things for improvement, is there could be drinking water fountain in mid point as well as restroom. we emptied 3 water bottle and my son was thirsty till we reached down.

Full description

A full nature hike with no use of engine vehicles, fully eco-friendly.
Beginning from the north west base and discovering the Nort west and South East part of the slopes. Enjoy the snaking-path to start with which will pave your way to the most difficult portions of climbing and scrambling.
Our guide/s will be giving you full briefs at every stage of the hike. You will only have to follow our experience guide instructions and advice. Enjoy the breathtaking views of Chamarel imposing and silent mountains. Feel their voices and welcome and imagine how much a moment of peace was felt by the slaves and feel as well the value and pricelessness of Freedom. Northwest and South East coasts splendid beauties and colourful oceans will unveil in front of you.
We give you time to take a little breath from time to time as the objective is not only the summit, but spending some time with your loved ones in the freshness and peacefulness of what used to be sometime, the hiding place of unfortunate slaves.
Your guide will be happy to make pics for you, a free service we offer. Climb to the top while appreciating the ocean views. See also some rare plants and species of birds, which sometimes naughty, go and hide in their habitat. Of course, we are not here to disturb them or anybody else. We are here today to discover from the top and enjoy and pay tribute to those unfortunate slaves who valued so much Freedom that they preferred die free rather than live as slave.
