Rome: Palazzo Valentini Roman Domus Multimedia Experience

Rome: Palazzo Valentini Roman Domus Multimedia Experience

Start your experience with a multimedia video which shows the past and the present of the most important monuments in Rome, including the Colosseum, Roman Forum, St. Peter's Basilica, Castel St. Angel, Circus Maxiums and Ara Pacis. The video is shown inside the Touristation Office before you begin exploring the Domus. The visit at the Domus will start one hour later. Then, using a headset, admire the virtual reconstruction of rooms, walls, mosaics, peristyles, kitchens, baths, furnishings and decorations. Everything will come back to life during this virtual tour of the great Domus of Ancient Rome. The experience reveals an area that was of great importance in Roman times and helps piece together the ancient, medieval and modern parts of Rome. You will also have the opportunity to observe how the area of Trajan's Column looked in olden times. A virtual reconstruction of the column gives you a close-up look at the bas-reliefs and the story they tell of the Trajan’s military campaign; the conquest of Dacia in present day Romania. Enrich your experience and book the FOROF Experience: archaeology and contemporary art, a combination in a mutual process of regeneration, inspired by the atmosphere of cultural cafes of the 20th century avant-garde. Founded by Giovanna Caruso Fendi, FOROF is the first permanent and continuous reality in Rome that proposes the binomial between contemporary art and archaeology, in a mutual process of regeneration. It is located in the heart of Rome, at Palazzo Roccagiovine, opposite the Trajan’s column at the Imperial Fora, and preserves in the hypogeum environments, in agreement with the Archaeological Superintendence of Rome, the colored marble of the pavement of the Basilica Ulpia and the remains of the eastern apse (2nd Century A.C.). Nimbus Limbus Omnibus by Bartolomeo Pietromarchi. The collective Viennese, in Rome for the first time, realizes an exhibition project unpublished and site-specific thought in dialogue with the archaeological site of Basilica Ulpia. FOROF takes you back in time with the olfactory experience. Devoloped by Laura Bosetti Tonatto, a professional "nose" known all over the world. FOROF ESSENZA wants to return the spirit of a place, becoming a cultural and social tale of the universal value of freedom.

buses, metro and trams very punctual, and crowded only during rush hour. museum discounts with the city card are quite advantageous; it could be improved by reducing the cost of the 72-hour and longer city card a bit, to allow you to return to Rome more often. beware of pickpockets who are always numerous at the stops with the most attractions due to the many unwary tourists. However, excellent public safety service in many sites with greater public attendance.

If you are going to enter the museums, you should definitely get the RomaPass, it is both affordable and all buses, metro and trains are free in Rome. I think 48, 72 is good but for example 5 days or 1 week would be good because there are so many places to see and museums in Rome, it will not be over in 72 hours 😊

Our trip was amazing. From the moment we Picked up our passes to our last activity it was seamless. Rome was fantastic!

Highly recommended. Useful for transportation and we were able to enter a tourist spot with the pass.

Everything is going well, I'm waiting to use my last pass this year.
