Full description
Your 4-hour journey takes you on a voyage of exploration through the mangroves of Langkawi, to discover exotic plants and animal species. Many of them survive by ingenious methods in a dynamic environment of constant change, dictated by the rise and fall of the tides. Following a short drive to the jetty, get on board a boat and explore the mangrove forests and ancient limestone outcrops of the northeast of the island. Mangrove forests play an essential part in maintaining the ecological balance of the world. They influence the climate, provide shelter, and act as major nurseries for fish and shrimps. As you drift through the mangroves, look out for the bizarre land walking fishes. Watch out too for bright flashing kingfishers, and look up to see eagles and kites. If you are very lucky, you might see curious otters and playful dolphins. And don’t forget the little critters, however creepy and crawly they might seem. They are all playing a vital role in this unique environment. The optional lunch is a fixed menu comprising of Tom Yum soup with veggies, chicken fried rice, French fries, sliced watermelon, and cordial orange juice. The tour includes a 30-minute beach stop, dependent on sea and weather conditions. The total length of the tour is 6 hours, including the 2-hour round-trip transfer from your hotel.

The trip was amazing. The guide Fouzan had a lot of knowledge, spoke a lot and was funny. The lunch at the floating fish farm was a disappointment. I didn't know that a Fries rice in Malaysia could be that bad. Really no taste, most ate their plates not empty either. But in the end I didn't go for the food, so the trip still scores well.

    was fun!

Even if I did not understand English a little, I enjoyed it. It was an interesting guide, full of humor and friendly. They will stop by Tanjung Rhu Beach on the way, so if you have swimwear and bath towels, you may have enjoyed it more. It was OK with sandals. It's cheaper than asking for a tour in Japan, so if you're used to English, I think this is good too.

Lovely tour with caves and a speedboat. You can see great flora and fauna including bats, lizards, fishes, monkeys and we even saw a snake! Although I didn’t book the kayaking option I was still able to participate since I was attending the tour on my own, which was absolutely amazing! Our tour guide was not only funny but also very knowledgable and eager to show us all the different species and tell us about them. The included lunch is good too, however with the vegetarian option the mean is only removed which leaves you with rice and a few veggies. I would recommend this tour to everyone who doesn’t want a full day activity but still see a lot from the island and it’s beautiful nature!
