  • New Orleans: French Quarter Ghost Tour

    1. New Orleans: French Quarter Ghost Tour

Make your way to the French Quarter to meet your guide, a historian with at least a Bachelors degree in history. Your guide might be a history teacher or college professor or a history student, but the emphasis is always on history and not theater. The tour visits places like the infamous Lalaurie Mansion (as seen on 'American Horror Story Coven'), May Bailey's Brothel (as seen on Travel Channels 'Ghost Adventures'), and many other sites such as the 'Sultan's Palace'. This is the only ghost tour in New Orleans with access inside a haunted building. The tour is kid and alcohol friendly and is a 2-hour leisurely stroll just under a mile long with frequent stops and restroom breaks.

Our guide was very knowledgeable. I appreciated her down to earth attitude and honesty. She didn’t overhype things and knew the city well. Well worth the money!

Hear the real story and timeline behind the Lalaurie Mansion, Marie Laveau and everything that wasn't explained in American Horror Story, including which celebrity later went on to purchase this mansion and arguably "lost his mind" while living there. As a bonus, find out which celebrities own homes in the French Quarter, where the scenes from famous movies were filmed and who loves this city so much they purchased a mausoleum to be buried in. Meet your guide at a central location in the French Quarter at a haunted bar where you will h...

We had a great time hearing the stories our guide told us regarding the history and gruesome occurrences in the French Quarter. Our group consisted of ages 23, 24, 45, 49 and we all had fun. FYI: The site says "wheelchair accessible" but the sidewalks are very hard to navigate in a wheelchair due to all the cracks and holes.

We had Sandra Dee as our guide and she did a great job painting the gruesome scenes for us. Her energy was very entertaining. I appreciated the 15 minute break at the middle to get another drink/visit a voodoo shop.

Tyler was our tour guide tonight and was amazing! Knowledgeable and well versed in New Orleans history. Next time we’re here, we will definitely have to find him for our next tour.
