Trip of the 3 islands of Lake Maggiore departing from Stresa .. Timetable every half hour there is a boat .. as soon as we arrived they saw us in groups and boarded immediately. Zero waiting time. The only flaw with the covid spacing was not in the boat but the mask was required.

Transport went very well from one island to another. The drivers make the effort to explain to us in French, we can understand each other. On the Isola Madre, there is the palace and its gardens which are just magnificent to visit. Without taking the ticket to visit; the island has no interest. Isola Bela has shops and a palace to visit. It is quite possible not to visit the palace, the island has pleasant nooks and crannies. Possible to take the combined ticket for both palaces at € 24 or € 13.50 each, if I'm not mistaken. The Isola dei Pescatori is made up of small shops and restaurants. Dare to get lost in the small less busy lanes, the island will take all its charm! Nice visit with lots of charm. I really recommend. PS: dogs are welcome

    Well organised boat trips

You have to swap your voucher for ticket at the booking office then go to the landing stage. The back of the ticket gives an indication of the colours of the boat you need to board. When you land at the first island the captain gives you the times of departures eg on the hour every hour or every 30 mins as 10 past the hour and 40 past the hour. The final return journey is on the hour but the good thing a intermediate boat came at half past 4.00pm and took 20 plus people which relieved the pressure as of course every body wants the latest time possible. I would advise buying a joint ticket that covers house and gardens on two island and save some money. The second island had plenty of restaurants so no need to book.
