1. Florence: Cinque Terre Day Trip with Optional Hike and Lunch

Get a taste of 'la dolce vita' on this jam-packed tour to the Cinque Terre, a collection of quintessential Italian towns dotted along the coast of Tuscany. After meeting your guide in central Florence, listen to an insightful introduction about the Cinque Terre on the 2-hour bus journey to La Spezia. After a quick bathroom break, board the first train of the day. Arrive in Manarola, the first of the Cinque Terre villages you will visit. Here you will join a small guided walk through the vines, and then enjoy some free time to explore at your own pace. Next, take the train to Corniglia. Climb the steps to reach the center of this quaint village and take some time to wander around. If you have selected the add-on, sit down at a local restaurant with a beautiful terrace and sea views. Tuck into a lunch of homemade pesto pasta for your 'primo' and fresh fish for your ‘secondo’. Then, choose to either go on an adventurous guided hike from Corniglia to Vernazza, or if you prefer to take it easy, follow your guide and take a train instead. Once in Vernazza, sit at one of the local cafés, or take a refreshing dip in the sea. Next, board a train to Monterosso, the village renowned for its beautiful beaches and artisan shops. If the weather allows it, you will then board a boat to navigate along the coast of the Cinque Terre. Arrive in Riomaggiore, an ancient fishing village and the most southern of the 5 villages. After exploring this last village, board the train back to La Spezia and then take the coach back to Florence.

The only way to see all five towns and hike in one day. It’s a daunting task from Florence, but this tour was so well organized and delivered, we were able to do it. The logistics were incredible…. Timing, transportation, communication.. the guides, Chris and Addo were just excellent, ; attentive, energetic and conscientious. Both spoke excellent English. We did not have much time in each town, but didn’t expect it in a one-day tour. We just had time to see the town, grab a bite. You go up by train, stopping at each town, and back on a wonderful boat which gives you a view of the towns from the water. If you want any sort of immersion in Cinque, this is not your tour. We did the hike which was far more strenuous than we anticipated. It took us 90 minutes which cut into our free time in Vernazza. We took the organized lunch at Corniglia. It was very good and great value, but cut into free time in Corniglia, which was definitely worth a short visit. Overall, a great tour.

Our guides Chris & Ado were absolutely amazing! They were kind, knowledgeable and on top of everything! They kept track of each one of us and gave us great info and tips for each town we visited. You can tell these two have fun working together and are truly good people. Cinque Terre was beautiful. We opted out of the hike so we could have more time on the beach. The towns are colorful, picturesque and easy to explore. Lastly during the bus ride home our guides made the effort to talk to each of us to answer any questions we may have had. It was truly the best experience I’ve ever had with guides. I highly recommend this excursion.

Our tour man Marco was terrific, super knowledgeable, and kind. He was patient and very courteous. We saw so much in one day. We couldn’t get over how reasonable the cost was for an in-depth tour like this. By far is our best tour experience

Chris and Ado were very fun, friendly and engaging tour guides. The content they covered was very interesting and they constantly made sure that we were enjoying our Cinque Terre experience. Thank you for a wonderful day!

Awesome, highly recommend! The tour guides were both so amazing and generous, as well as very clear with instructions. Got to see all 5 towns and had enough time at each.
