It's a really good tour and very engaging! the only thing I would say is that some of the stories shared were slightly inaccurate as literature online and verified historical accounts differed to what we were told. But that didn't really take away from the beauty of the place!

Fascinating place to visit. Really recommend having a tour to learn about the history of the cemetery and some of the people buried there. It made it a lot more interesting to us. Our guide (maria ?) was excellent with great English and communication. As with the other guides with this company we suggest they change the 'free walking tour' jacket as it is misleading and meant our guide had to keep telling people that joined in during the tour that it wasn't actually free. Even if there wasn't a set price, these tours are usually tip based. I suspect many people saw 'free tour' and thought it was run by the cemetery (which they had paid to enter). The tour started 10 min late and would be better if it finished 15 min earlier as it is quite long - this is partly due to waiting for large group to gather at each spot so more smaller tours would also be better.

This is one of those mass tours with like 40 people and a guide with a loudspeaker, so if that's not your bag, I'd look for a smaller tour-by-donation. That said, Victoria was an excellent guide and handled it all well. I sometimes felt like there were really interesting mausoleums I wanted to know more about that weren't on the tour...I asked her about one of them and she said just not much was known about it. This feels like a place you could go back to with multiple people to learn about different parts of it...it's huge and honestly this tour just dug a bit below the surface!
