Full description
Get an introduction to La Paz on a sightseeing tour with an English-speaking guide. Admire the impressive architecture on Plaza Murillo and try a traditional mid-morning snack before you head to the infamous San Pedro Prison. Learn why it is so famous as you stroll past the prison walls.

Venture to several local markets where the culture of Bolivia really comes alive! Hear about staple foods, including different types of potatoes from the Andes. Taste fresh organic produce at a fruit market, including flavorful fruit from the rainforest. Then, travel by cable car to a spectacular viewpoint away from the tourist crowds. Get a panoramic view of the city from above.

Jump back in a cable car and journey down to the Witches Market, another classic La Paz neighborhood. Here you can discover the myths and legends of Bolivia, from spooky voodoo to everything you need to know about the coca leaf. You’ll even find some very interesting Bolivian aphrodisiacs.

On the way back to downtown (again via cable car), take a short stop off at another market, where locals buy their day-to-day goods. Here you can take in yet another snapshot of local life in La Paz, shop for some produce yourself, or perhaps buy some last-minute souvenirs.

Return to Plaza Murillo between 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM, depending on the traffic and the pace of the group.
