The views were stunning and the experience of walking above the clouds was incredible. Our guide was very informative and funny too. The walk was challenging but not too difficult for us. I would say you don’t want to miss this experience of walking in such a beautiful area with the benefit of an experienced guide. We took some fabulous photographs of the mountains and gorges to impress our family at home! One thing I would warn people about is that this trek is not a stroll along a paved path. It is quite rough underfoot at times and a bit of scrambling over boulders is involved. The path goes up and down a lot and a reasonable level of fitness is required. It can be cold up there so take layers and walking boots. Have fun!

Venture to the highest point on the island of La Palma during a trek with a professional guide. Complete with transport to and from your accommodation, this tour of El Roque de los Muchachos is a great way to get outdoors and experience the natural landscape and picturesque terrain.
Start your day with a convenient pickup from your hotel. Hop aboard your air-conditioned tour bus and take in the scenery en route to the Mirador de los Muchachos as you ascend the winding road.

The Roque de Los Muchachos, boasting 2,426 meters in altitude, is the top of Isla Bonita and is crossed by several paths that will allow you to enjoy a panoramic view of clouds and the terrain below.
Trek along a path that was once used as a commercial route connecting the municipality of Tijarafe to the capital in Santa Cruz de La Palma. Your trip will locate you at the border of the Caldera de Taburiente National Park and lead you to some of the telescopes of the Roque de Los Muchachos Observatory.

Experience breathtaking views of the Cumbre Vieja or Cumbre Nueva as well as the municipalities of Los Llanos de Aridane, Tazacorte and Tijarafe. Witness the cedars, lards and summit pansies before reaching Roberto's Wall.

Continue on your path as you reach Pico de La Cruz where, if the day is clear, you will be able to see as far as the island of Tenerife. Once you have completed the hike at Pico de La Nieve you will head back to your tour bus.

Fantastic tour and guide. unfortunately when we arrived at the top of the roque, we were in the clouds and couldn't really see anything. Our guide however, made the most of the day, taking us across to the west of the island where the sun was out. Stopping at a farmers market for coffee, multiple miradors, ending the afternoon with a pleasurable hike down from Mirador el time to Puerto de Tazacorte. The views on this hike were spectacular and it was some quick thinking to bring the day back around allowing us to see alternative sights we may not have seen otherwise.
