To climb the mountain it takes a day of acclimatization, that a person accustomed to exercise can bear No problem, all promotions are different, but really with views impressive. The last days is when the challenge turns interesting since we will climb the Iztaccihuatl and Pico de Orizaba, which are the 3rd and 1st largest mountains in Mexico (the 2nd is Popocatépetl, which is an active volcano and cannot be climbed). The Iztaccíhuatl is a beautiful mountain with two glaciers, one located in the belly and the other on the chest, and even though it's not a mountain of a lot of technique, it does require a excellent physical condition due to the height and how long it will take us to reach the top. There were 2 of you. The guide picked us up by car at the foot of the hotel at 6am. Then we drove 1h30 including 30 min in the natural park of la malinche. The guide explained the day's schedule to us. He spoke very good English. Once arrived he gave us walking sticks and treats. The ascent lasted 3 hours, then we took a break with a meal from the bag and a hot drink prepared by our guide. During the accension he gave us explanations during the breaks. The guide is the protector of the park so he collected our waste and those we found on the way. Acccension of 1000m between 3000m by car and 4000m by meal. Oxygen is scarcer. At least occasional physical practice is necessary.

Patient guide. Much more difficult than even an athlete would expect. Virtually no chance of strength or especially time to get to summit. Goal should be 13,000 feet. Download altimeter app. Take 64-80 ounces if water. Wrap feet heavily. Hiking shoes because you will slide on your butt a lot if rhe way down without them.
