Awesome

First we went to the rappel tour. our guide there was extremely friendly and knew exactly what he was doing. we felt safe at all times. you will rappel down 4 waterfalls with 2 surprises along the way. after, we went back to the base where they served us breakfast. we bought the photos from this tour and it was well worth it!! from there we drove to another location for the rafting. we had a different guide but he was also really nice. although, it was hard to hear his instructions once in the Rapids with all the noise. My only disappointment is that there was no guy taking pictures when promised there would be. he was apparently not available that day. Overall the experience was amazing and I would definitely recommend to anyone.

Exhilarating rapelling and rafting experience

We enjoyed the rapelling and rafting excursions. We rapelled in the cool, refreshing water of the canyon. Be warned that there are slippery rocks so hiking sandals with good traction are a must. Also, the hike back up was steep, so you must be moderately fit and healthy. The good thing was that there were stepping stones. The Balsa River rafting tour was exhilarating; there were plenty of class 2 & 3 rapids which made it exciting. Just when you thought you can let your guard down, the river starts boiling and rumbling again. We were able to clean off the river water in 4 outdoor showers (cold water only) and there were a few private changing rooms. At the end of our adventure, a generous plate of casada (black beans and rice) with veggies, yucca, two pieces of braised chicken and relish was served to us. We also got a chance to sample shots of moonshine and see how brown sugar was made from harvested sugar cane. We had a great time. Highly recommended.
