You will eventually reach the look-out point which is as close as you can get to the Arenal volcano. In fact, many years ago when the volcano was active, people could see the red lava pouring down! The views were amazing! Weather was perfect for Mid May. We ended up seeing two different types of monkeys, which is a rare site! It didn’t take us to the base of the volcano, but we had great views nonetheless. There wasn’t a fruit break either, but water was provided. Our tour guides, Byron and Esteban, were informative and friendly and chose the right horses for our needs. Overall, amazing experience and I recommend for first time visitors!

Really fun time! I haven’t been on a horse in a very long time but the guide was very patient and we had fun and saw some amazing views of the volcano and the area around Arenal.
