What to Expect
Go rafting down the Balsa River on a 6-hour trip from La Fortuna. Navigate through class II and III rapids and enjoy a short cultural tour of the area afterward.
Your day begins with a 45-minute drive out to the river. Your guide will give you a safety briefing and a few paddling instructions and then you will set off down the river. Enjoy splashing your way through wave after wave, and stop to swim in the marvelous refreshing pools.
About halfway through the tour, stop along the riverbanks for a snack consisting of a variety of fresh tropical fruit. Then head back out on the water for more thrills!
When you have finished your trip, head back toward La Fortuna, stopping for an unforgettable Costa Rican lunch prepared on a wood-burning stove. After lunch, discover some of the culture and traditions of Costa Rica with a stop at a sugar cane mill.
