An excellent and informative tour that took us around the Gion district at night. Aya took us through the historical period and linked it in with today where we learnt about this unique culture that is still very much alive today. She showed us pictures that added perspective and demonstrated historical changes really well. I highly recommend this tour.

Our guide was very knowledge about the history of Gaisha. Her explanation enable us to appreciate the culture and history of Gion and Giesha a lot more. Our Kyoto trip wouldn't have been such enjoyable and memorable without this night walk. It was a good start of any Kyoto trip if you want to understand more about the place and what makes it such a magical and memorable place to visit.

This tour is highly recommended! First of all, even if it rained the tour still continued. Secondly, we went to several districts in Gion that if I were to do it on my own I wouldn’t be able to appreciate it. The tour was so informative that I learned a lot about geishas and the area as well. Thirdly, we were able to see a maiko-san! I think it was the highlight of the tour- being able to see a real geisha. Of course we were just lucky to have seen one but if I alone saw her I probably would have mistaken her as a tourist dressed in kimono. But since our guide Aiu was with us, it was she who told us that that it was a real maiko-san. Anyways, this tour is highly recommended! Just be prepared for lots of walking! But all in all it was a great tour.
