Full description
First, visit a local shop to learn more about Nishijin-ori, which is a traditional style of textile weaving unique to Kyoto. Then, wander through the ancient streets of the city and learn more about the spirits and legends associated with the former capital of Japan.
Stroll down the mysterious Ichijo Yōkai Street, and learn about the haunting of this area by various restless yōkai. Browse the various stores where you can pick up various mementoes and souvenirs.
Continue the tour by visiting Seimei Shrine. This shrine pays homage to a famous figure in Japanese folklore, Abe no Seimei who was a leading practitioner of astrology in the Heian period.
Finally, visit Kitano Tenmangu, a Shinto shrine dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane, the Shinto God of learning. Learn about the founding of the shrine, and its characteristics designed to appease his restless spirit.
