This was such a fun night in Kyoto. Diogo was our guide and the group was very small. Only 4 of us, they changed the meeting location so the other 2 people must not have made it. This was sent in an email prior to the tour. Diago took us to a shrine and a walk around Gion explaining a bit of the culture and what life in Kyoto is like. We then went to 2 Izakayas. One that was a sit down, the other was standing only. With just 5 total we had plenty to eat and alcohol was served. I would have never had this experience on my travels in Japan out of intimidation going into a small Izakaya and not knowing what to order. The group was very chill and eager to share about themselves and their experiences so far in Japan. I really liked talking to Diago who moved to Japan a few years ago and shared about his experience living in the historic town and of neighboring cities. Can't recommend this enough. This is pricey, you do walk a lot, but the experience was well worth it.

We had a fabulous tour with our guide Mathew. We saw some wonderful places and Mathew told us lots of interesting information we would not have known otherwise. He showed us some cute little side streets we would never have found ourselves. We got to try sake and the food we had was delicious. Our experience was wonderfull and Mathew was fantastic.
