Known as 'Kyoto's Kitchen', Nishiki Market is a famous traditional market in Kyoto. This tour will take you to businesses recommended by locals and show you where to find the best eats for the rest of your stay.

While walking through the market, you will have chance to taste many samples and learn about local culture and history. Gain an understanding of what makes the cuisine so different from Tokyo as you taste dishes such as yuba (tofu skin), pickled vegetables, sesame crackers, croquettes, and hamo (Japanese pike conger eel). 

Stop at Nishiki Tenmangu Shrine to hear about how this historical temple still plays an important role in the lives of the locals. The tour begins in the afternoon and consists of around 1.5 hours in the market.
