Then set off through the hidden and wild valleys of north Connemara, a region called "Joyce Country", so named for the old Irish clan that once ruled it. Here we stop at the shores of Lough Nafooey, another glacial lake surrounded by hills that are the last remains of an ancient, long extinct volcano. Lastly, we enter Cong Village and explore Cong Woods, one of Ireland's largest native forests. Here you can stroll around the village that was the backdrop of the 1950's classic movie, ‘The Quiet Man,’ or feed the ducks on the edge of Lough Corrib - the Republic of Ireland's largest lake. We recommend you visit the ruins of Cong Abbey, an Augustinian Abbey dating back to the early 12th century and one of the best examples of medieval ecclesiastical architecture in Ireland. Leaving Cong Village, we head directly south to Galway City along the eastern side of the mighty Lough Corrib, completing our loop of the lake, before disembarking and finishing back in Galway by approximately 6:00 PM.

Our host, Paddy was amazing. We learned so much! He kept the group engaged the entire time and you could feel the love and pose he has for Ireland. He was thrown some random questions and didn’t hesitate when answering. So. I’ve when you can tell it’s real knowledge and not just a script. We were in one of the smaller vans as opposed to a bus, the back row was quite squishy. The van had a wifi sticker on it and there was none. No biggie but would have been nice.

Wonderful experience. We had Gerry as a guide and he was simply fantastic, he made us sing along the way, he put on Irish music and he told us in detail the history of everything that we found in front of us. We stopped several times to take photos and in breathtaking places, I can only recommend it and even better if you get Gerry as a guide.

We enjoyed our guide Jerry. NEVER let him go. He was awesome with information, his singing and always on point.

Great. You see everything and have time for everything. Maybe not lunch but ok. Very good. Beautiful views.

Had a wonderful guide. Although it was raining all day, he made the experience a good one.
