The safari offers a cozy experience, allowing you to capture stunning photos and make unforgettable memories. Make a bonfire together and enjoy hot drinks like hot chocolate, coffee, and tea. Sit around the bonfire and wait for the northern lights to show up. Enjoy some snacks as you wait and listen to the guides. Northern Lights Safari: For people who want the standard experience of a northern lights safari. The transport will be a comfortable bus to the destination and you will have several guides available for you to ask questions and learn about the Northern Lights. The guides will locate the best place to make a camp. During this camp, the guides will have a lesson and tell you the story behind the magical Northern Lights. When the Northern Lights finally show itself, photographers will be ready to take professional photos of you. Small Group 15 People Max: This product is for the people that appreciate a more private and cozy experience during transport and around the bonfire. You do pay a higher price. But not without any reason. The reason you take this product is because you want more attention from the guide. That also means you will have the opportunity to take more pictures during the safari. You will also be offered more food options, like reindeer-soup and grilling sausages over the bonfire. This is of course included in the price. Both products drive to the same area and will have the same chances of finding the Northern Lights! Our guides speak several languages. That being said, the Safari will be done in English, but you can request to be seated in the bus together with a guide that speaks your languages to help with translation. We can not guarantee that the guides speak your language. The Safari might last longer than 6 hours if necessary to find the lights. So be prepared for longer nights.

You will enjoy the magic of the Arctic Life, through views of white sand beaches, turquoise water, frozen waterfalls and lakes, local bars, fairy houses, and islands where time doesn't exist. Capture pictures of the landscape. On the way, there can be the possibility to see whales, orcas, eagles, reindeer, and moose. Join us for an amazing Whale Safari Tour. We’ll take you to the best spots where whales and orcas gather to hunt for herring. You can enjoy the breathtaking sight of whales from the comfort of our cozy saloon or outside on the open deck for an even closer encounter. This is a unique opportunity to witness the beauty and power of these incredible creatures in their natural habitat. Normally you will get to see orcas and humpback whales. Fin whales, minke whales and sperm whales also frequent the waters around Tromsø. Our professional guides will guide you through the journey in the arctic landscape and share insights about the whales, in English. The tour lasts 6-8 hours, depending on the whales’ location on any day. Normally it lasts for 6 hours, but if the whales are further away, we will spend more time to ensure we get to see whales. 8 hours max. The boat, MS Gabriele, is a warm and comfortable catamaran with seats for every passenger. You can watch the whales from inside the boat through large windows or from outside on a large open deck. The onboard bar offers warm and cold drinks, snacks and light meals. The whales move around, following the herring they feed on. Their location may vary from day to day. Our crew is experienced in locating them and we have a network of sailors reporting the whales’ location from day to day. We will do everything we can to see whales and we do find them almost every day. But there is no 100% guarantee that we will see whales. Second chance guarantee. In cases where we don’t get to see whales, we offer a free ticket for one of our next tour dates with available tickets, within the same season. Weather and cancellation The weather in the arctic is sometimes unpredictable. In cases of really bad weather and waves the tour might be cancelled. In such rare cases you will be offered a full refund or a change of ticket to an alternative day with available tickets. Weather and change of tour If the weather, winds and waves are too much for whale watching, our crew will choose an alternative route, in more sheltered waters, with less probability for whale watching. This will be a scenic Fjord Cruise with sightseeing and wildlife watching (possibly eagles, seabirds, seals, dolphins and whales). In such case you will get a refund to match the price of our Fjord Tour.

Depart from Tromsø and set off to explore the bays, straights, and fjords of the Arctic which are rich in wildlife and history. Cruise through small fishing villages, and ancient island communities on the outside of Kvaløya or ‘whale island’. We make a stop at a modern fish farm for an authentic experience. Watch as the crew deploys an underwater drone to explore the enchanting kelp forest and its marine life. Purchase drinks and a warm lunch on board, to enjoy while taking in the magnificent panoramic views.

Embark on a guided sledding experience from Tromsø. Take turns directing the sled or simply enjoy the incredible Arctic scenery. After, trade stories around a warm fire with some hot chocolate and cake. The meeting point is in front of the entrance of Scandic Ishavshotel. Look for a black mini bus with "Arctic Adventure Tours" written on the side. Enjoy the drive to the kennel on the island of Kvaløya and our kennel to meet our 130 Alaskan Huskies, who are always excited to meet guests. Get a short demonstration on how to drive a sled and feel free to ask any questions. Then, follow your guide and meet your huskies. Each pair, one passenger, and one driver will have their own sled. Enjoy several opportunities to swap between roles once the trip starts. Finally, head out to the snow and follow the guide along the trail. Take photos throughout the trip and take in the incredible landscapes. After your 70-80 minute sledding adventure, make your way into the Sami Lavvo for hot drinks and cake. Trade stories from the trip around the cozy fireplace until it is time to change out of your suits and hop back on the bus. You will be returned to the pickup point.

However, during the summer months, we provide greater flexibility with our tour times to accommodate cruise ship schedules in Tromsø. Tromsø has two ports, our meeting point is conveniently located within walking distance of the port in the city centre and to make it even easier for cruise passengers to join us, we offer an additional pick-up from the Brevika port from June to August. Otherwise, indulge in the snack around an open fire at the husky camp upon return. Get to know the fluffy friends and their puppies before heading back to Tromsø.
