Discover the beauty of the rainforest on this day trip from Port Douglas. Ride on the Captain Cook Highway aboard an airconditioned bus, see the canopy from above on the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway with 2 stops to enjoy and visit Kuranda Village. Return aboard the Kuranda Scenic Train. Be picked up from your hotel in the late morning and board an air conditioned comfortable bus. Head down the Captain Cook Highway to the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway. Journey over the World Heritage Rainforest and stop for pictures at 2 stations along the way. Arrive in Kuranda and meet your guide who will show you the Kuranda Village. Visit the vibrant markets, see the best places to eat, and visit some small animal parks. Board the Kuranda Scenic Train and head down the mountain. Pass through tunnels and by stunning waterfalls along the way. On arrival at Freshwater Station, head to Palm Cove, a beautiful beach side village where you can stop for a cocktail (at own expense) or take a walk on the beach.  Head back to Port Douglas and arrive at your accommodation in time for supper.

Enjoy a trip to explore Kuranda at your leisure. Travel to Kuranda on the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway. Glide over the world's oldest rainforest on the magnificent Skyrail Rainforest Cableway. On the way take a wall through the rainforest to enjoy amazing views of the spectacular Barron Gorge and Falls. Explore Kuranda on your own, choose from a vast array of activities including local markets, arts and crafts, enjoy an encounter with animals or butterflies. Enjoy a relaxing lunch before joining the historic Kuranda Scenic Railway on a spectacular journey through 15 tunnels and over 37 bridges. Learn about Kurada’s history as you pass through the flora. Then, enjoy magnificent views as you make your way to Freshwater Station to be met and transferred to your hotel, arriving about 4 pm. Alternatively, you can opt to continue to Carins Station, and walk to your accommodation.

Return coach transfers to and from Cairns hotels.

This small-group tour includes a short transfer from your hotel to Cairns Railway Station where you will board the historic Kuranda Scenic Railway for an amazing journey over 37 bridges & through 15 tunnels passing through the rainforest to the charming village of Kuranda. It’s a short walk to the village where you will have about 2.5 hours on your own to dine, explore, shop or perhaps an exciting encounter with wildlife at one of the zoos (fees apply) Later, make your way to Skyrail Rainforest Cableway where you will glide over the rainforest canopy as you make your way to the Barron Falls. View the magnificent Barron Gorge, the falls & visit the Rainforest Interpretive Centre before re-boarding the cableway and making your way to Red Peak Station. From there explore the World Heritage listed rainforest before re-boarding and completing your journey at Smithfield where you will be met and transferred to your accomodation.

Leave the city behind, travel past suger cane fields and then through the World Heritage-listed rainforest on a bus as you make your way to the charming rainforest village of Kuranda. Step back in history, visiting the the Australian Armour and Artillery Museum, the Southern Hemispheres largest museum dedicated to armoured vehicles and artillery pieces. Wander through this world class exhibit before making your way to the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway. Enjoy stunning views gliding over and through World Heritage Rainforest, including two stops en route. Limited time to explore the charm of Kuranda - 'The Village in The Rainforest' with plenty of cafes to purchase lunch or explore the Heritage Markets (Wed-Sun), before boarding the Kuranda Scenic Railway. Fantastic views through the Barron Gorge and out to the Coral Sea await as you snake your way home. A coach transfer back to your accommodation concludes your day. (Food, drinks and activities in Kuranda are at your own expense).

8:30am - Cairns Hotel pick up (Please be at pick up point 5min prior) 9:30am - Arrive at KUR-Cow Farm. Time for quick break and fill out indemnity forms. 10:00am - Safety briefing to commence and instructions from staff. Please listen carefully and abide by our staff's instructions. Your safety is our priority. You'll meet your equine friend and be guided through our paddocks and rainforest tracks. 12:00pm - Transfer to Kuranda Village for lunch and free time. There are many local cafes and restaurants available for lunch. Afterwards you can visit the Historic Markets and maybe even play a round of mini golf or visit the beautiful Butterfly Sanctuary. (Please note these options are at your own expense) 2:30pm - Depart Kuranda Village back to hotel.
