Kuala Selangor: Fireflies Tour with Batu Caves & Dinner

1. Kuala Selangor: Fireflies Tour with Batu Caves & Dinner

Kuala Selangor, a small town conquered by the Dutch in 1784, is most famous for its fireflies sanctuaries. It is said that this is one of the biggest firefly colonies in the world. Another highlight is the delicious seafood in the most scenic location. It is located well off the normal tourist route and hence still maintains its traditional village atmosphere. This is your best bet for a long peaceful ride away from the busy city. In this tour, you will see the Bukit Melawati. This small peak was once a mighty fortress built to safeguard the state. The Altingburg Lighthouse continues to be the main attraction with an awesome view of the Straits of Malacca. You will also get the chance to meet the unique Silver Leaf Monkeys. The little baby monkeys are born with a golden color, which eventually turns black like the adults.

Our driver, Abdul, spoke slowly in English for a better understanding, very welcoming, visiting butterflies is a very pleasant place, allow 45 minutes to go around. Then the Hisbiscus park, very well maintained, a nice walk, too bad the orchid park was closed. Then the bird park, we expected better ...

A nice halfday/evening tour. Starting with the Batu Caves, then dinner and ending with boattour to se the firefly. A bit of travelling with car since it took 1 hour 15 min from boat to center of KL. Our driver and guide Anthony was very pleasant and did a very good jobb in taking care of us.

Super day trip to do if you want to explore the KL surroundings. We really enjoyed it! Charlieboy was a great guide, real added value :)

The bird park is beautiful, unfortunately there was not enough time. The butterfly garden was only beautiful, but few butterflies.

The destinations were interesting and the driver was knowledgeable without bombarding you with information.
