Full description

Following pickup, begin your day at the Royal Selangor, which features the largest and most modern pewter factory in the world. It is also world-renowned for its high quality and craftsmanship.

On your factory tour, learn about the different processes at this factory such as casting, filing, polishing, soldering, hammering and engraving. Next, stop at Batik Factory to see how batik is designed and printed. Next, head to the limestone hills of the Batu Caves, comprised of three caverns and several smaller caves. Pass a towering statue of Murugan as you climb 272 steps into a cave shrine, and follow vivid murals of Hindu scripture. Spot the macaques that live on the lush cliff face. End your day on the city outskirts by driving past local villages. The tour ends with a drop-off back at your Kuala Lumpur City Centre hotel.

Our guide was great and accommodating. He picked us up right on time, answered all the questions we had, and offered us extra time as we needed. We went mid-week on the morning tour and it was perfect timing, not too crowded and we were able to climb the stairs while they were in the shade. We would not have seen or heard about the batik and pewter factory without this tour and they were fantastic! Would highly recommend, especially at the price point.

Driver was so nice and helpful! Pretty chill vibes which was nice because we had enough time to do everything. He told us lots about the caves and to watch out for the monkeys haha. He was great! Super nice and wasn’t expecting to go to two places after. The Royal Sangor Pewter was super cool and I would have never gone there otherwise!

We really appreciated the ease of pick-up (Directly at our hotel in Bukit Bintang). The driver was very nice and gave us some relevant information about the Batu Caves. He drops us off with a group and the “free visit” lasts 40min, which is not much in itself but enough to go up to the temple, take pictures, visit the interior and go out. If you really want to have time to take a lot of photos, and to visit the small outdoor temples next to Batu Caves, the time is too tight. Then the driver took us to an artisanal silk painting shop, pretty, but we wonder a little what this stage has to do with it when we book "Half day in the Batu Caves"... We end the tour with the Tin Museum. Very nice guided tour where you learn a lot of things but again it was not specified in the announcement. We all enjoyed the activities!
