The tour of the caves itself was actually very short and you have two other stops at a tin factory and batik shop. The tin factory, my partner and I actually found very interesting. But the batik “factory” was actually just a shop. The batu caves were breath taking. But are actually free entry. And we were only allowed to stay there 50 minutes.

Our guide, Raj, was very cheerful and had a lot of information to hand. The bus was clean, cool & comfortable. We were told we had 50 mins at the Batu Caves, to walk from the far side of the bus stop, explore the caves & get back to the bus. It was extremely hot that day & I think you need at least an hour at the caves to climb the stairs, explore the temple area, grab a drink, and get back down the stairs without feeling rushed, perhaps 1hr 15 mins - especially when the temperature is so high. The stop at the Batik Shop was fine, and the Royal Selangor factory was very interesting. Again, we could have done with a little longer there as well, to browse in the shop, perhaps get a drink and use the facilities? The tour took all but 10 mins of our time there, we rushed to make a purchase & get on the bus - only to be kept waiting for others in the group who were setting their own schedule! Perhaps more realistic stop durations would avoid over-runs? Great tour though, would recommend

Unfortunately our time at the Batu caves was relatively short and affected by rain. If the weather forecast shows rain it may be preferable to rearrange the order of the batik and pewter factory stops. Very knowledgeable guide and overall enjoyable tour.
