The Wieliczka Salt Mine dates back to medieval times and has a history of around 9 centuries of salt exploitation. The tourist route through the mine is located 135-meters (about 443-feet) underground and is accessible by stairs or by elevator.

    Very interesting and informative tour. Very friendly guide. Sometimes struggled to hear guide due to size of group we were in and other groups in the same area at the same time so would be useful if tour guide has microphones and we had headphones to hear.

    The 'skip the line' only means that you don't have to queue up for a ticket at the location, it doesn't mean you just walk straight in. You are given a set time, usually 20 - 30 mins after you arrive, which is fine if the weather is good. The tour itself is very informative and well planned. I recommend you take some water or other drink as the tour is quite long.
