Full description
Journey back to the dark days of World War II and learn the inspiring story of Oskar Schindler at Oskar Schindler's Factory Museum. Enter a modern museum devoted to the wartime experiences of the 5-year Nazi occupation of Poland during World War II. Located in the former enamel factory of the industrialist who famously saved the lives of over 1,000 people during the Holocaust, the site and story were brought into the limelight by Steven Spielberg's 1993 Oscar-winning movie "Schindler's List." Still on the site of the original administrative building of the factory on Lipowa Street, the museum tells the individual histories of Kraków's wartime inhabitants, the fate of the Jews and the city’s underground resistance to the Nazi occupation. See archival documents and photographs of the time, and listen to radio and film recordings that bring the story to life. Admire period artifacts and marvel at the dynamic multimedia installations in the museum.

Very good guides! I would definitely recommend a tour led by a guide. The information that he tells is exciting but reduced to the most important things. Note that this is a museum about life in Krakow, not Schindler or the factory. So I think the museum as such would be difficult to understand without a guide.

A very interesting visit that I really do not regret. You should know that this museum mainly talks about the history of Poland (pre / post WW2) and not the history of Oskar Schindler. Don't expect to visit the factory either. The museum nevertheless remains a must for situating Poland at war.

I found the experience a very humbling although as I have a mobility problem I found the climb up to the start a bit harrowing. I wasn’t aware there was a lift up to the start, which could have helped. I also felt the guide rushed the the story he didn’t wait until the whole group was in place to hear him he just kept talking as the rest of party cought up. I realise the place was busy but a little patience would have helped. In hindsight I would have done the tour on our own
