Full description
Spend a half-day learning about the dark history of Poland with this 3.5-hour guided tour. Start your tour with pickup by your instructor who will explain to you the sightseeing plan for the day before starting your audio-guided tour of Kazimierz and Podgórze district.   For many centuries, Kazimierz was a place of coexistence and interpenetration of ethnic Polish and Jewish cultures. Its Jewish inhabitants were forcibly relocated in 1941 by the German occupying forces into the Krakow ghetto just across the river in Podgórze. Today, Kazimierz is an important center of cultural life in the city. Explore Plac Bohaterów Getta, Heroes of the Ghetto Square, Apteka Pod Orlem (Pharmacy Under the Eagle), 6 synagogues, and more. The last stop on your tour will be a 2-hour visit to Oskar Schindler’s Factory. This museum tells the story of Oskar Schindler and the fate of the Jews during wartime in Krakow. Using vast archival documents, photos, radio and film recordings, period artefacts, and dynamic media installations, you’ll delve even deeper into the darker sides of Krakow’s history.

Scheduled meeting time on the site: 10:00 am. Seeing no one on time, we phoned the organizer who announced a half hour late. Still not seeing anyone at 10:30 a.m., we call back to hear that because of a late group, we cannot be picked up until 11:40 a.m. Then, we are quickly dropped off at Schindler's firm without the audio guide that was planned. Coated, the driver picks us up at 2 p.m. in the mini electric bus to announce that we will not have a visit to the pharmacy (which was included in the price) because it is closed on the second Tuesday of the month. We visited the Jewish quarter and Guettoen electric bus as planned

Pickup in the center of Krakow on time, but had to wait 15 minutes in vain for another person. Oskar Schindler Museum is very interesting (unfortunately nothing in German). Then the exploitation started. Short and concise explanation in the vehicle about the individual sights in Podgorze, as well as in Kazimirz. No time to visit the pharmacy under the eagle or to visit a synagogue. The tour was given as 3.5 hours. We left 15 minutes late and then ended in Kazimirz after 2 hours and 15 minutes. If we had gone back to Krakow, the tour would have taken 2.5 hours. Where did the promised and paid hour go? So a total rip off for 35 euros. Everything accessible by tram. Once and never again !!!

Didn’t get to experience half the tour so be careful for timings when booking! Museums close at 2pm so the tour gets cut. Guide was nice , however the tour did get a little boring. Factory wasn’t what we expected - it was just reading off boards - no interactivity. And there was hardly anything about the work of Schindler or how he helped the Jews escape and nothing was left of the original factory other than lightbulbs. Wouldn’t recommend going here as it was quite boring and there was only 1 wax model. Quite disappointed really.
