Our guide for the day was Slywester, he was a really nice fella. He kept us informed all day of what was about to happen during the day, so never felt what do we do now ! He made everyone feel welcome and shared a few jokes along the way. if you should get Slywester on your trip you will be in good hands!

we had sylwester as our driver. he has a Mercedes people carrier which was excellent, comfy and clean. when we arrived at our tours he sorted everything out for us, told us what and where to go. he kept us informed about the tours and kept us updated with arrival times. sylwester even went out his way to show us a little more. he was on time and a very friendly guy. we must say having sylwester as our driver made the tours even more enjoyable, he couldn't off done anything else as he made the trip excellent, he definitely went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time which we did thanks to him. he dropped us back at the hotel doors. what a guy slywester is and if we come back we'd sure like slywester again. anyone who gets him as there driver will be assured a good trip. a massive thank you slywester. from daniel andrea Stephen rhona

Full description

Visit Auschwitz on a day trip from Krakow. Learn about the history of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camps during a guided tour with a certified historian and guide.

Auschwitz-Birkenau was founded in 1940 by Nazi Germany and was the largest concentration camp operated by the Nazis. It became the final resting place for millions of people, mostly Jews and Poles, who were murdered in gas chambers.

Pass through the gate with the inscription "Arbeit macht frei" to enter Auschwitz I, where your guide will show you around the preserved area and explain the history of the site. 
Then, visit the second camp at Birkenau, where mass killings took place as part of the Nazi "Final Solution to the Jewish Question."

  • In rare cases when no guide will be available, the tour may be changed to a self-guided tour with a guidebook in your language
  • During Last Minute tours, waiting time in queue may last up to a few hours
  • Per the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum requirements, all participants must provide their full name and contact details as part of the booking. Names cannot be changed after booking.
  • The museum determines the tour's pace
  • You are not permitted to enter the museum with large bags or backpacks (the maximum size allowed is 20 x 30 cm)
  • For non-English guided tours, note that the excursion leader may not speak your chosen language; it applies only to the museum tour itself.
  • It is recommended that you bring lunch and drinks with you.
