Travel from Krakow to the Auschwitz and Birkenau concentration camps and learn about their history. A guide will lead you on a tour of the infamous grounds. In the evening enjoy a dinner of Jewish dishes and a concert of original Jewish music.
What to Expect
On this 3.5-hour program you’ll visit Auschwitz, the largest German concentration camp of WWII, located on the outskirts of the Polish town of Ośiwięcim. A documentary about the camp and a guided tour by an English-speaking guide will teach you about the terrible tragedies that occurred and the many lives lost.
In addition to the 2 main camps, Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II-Birkenau, there is also a state museum, established by the Polish government in 1947. You’ll find many artifacts on display, including personal possessions belonging to the prisoners.
The museum is also dedicated to researching the Holocaust and is devoted to the memory of the individuals who were murdered in the camps.
This half-day bus tour begins and ends in Krakow. In the evening you’ll visit Klezmerhojs, a Jewish cafe in the center of Kazimierz, the city’s former Jewish district. You’ll enjoy the unique opportunity to listen to original Klezmer music and taste Jewish food.
