Full description

Experience history at Auschwitz-Birkenau and learn about the inhuman conditions of life during the Second World War from your guide on a walking tour. Visit the Wieliczka salt mine to see its incredible salt sculptures.

Sit back and take in the Polish landscape as you drive out of Kraków to Auschwitz-Birkenau for your day of history. Auschwitz-Birkenau is the largest death camp in human history, the site of mass destruction and genocide in Europe during World War II.

Learn how the camp was built by the Nazis in 1940 in the suburbs of Oswiecim. The total number of deaths and executions is estimated to be over 1.5 million people of 28 nationalities. Almost 90% of these people were Jews.

As you walk through the former concentration camp, feel the deep impression it imprints on you, partly because it allows you to imagine the scale of the Holocaust. Since 1979, this site has been listed on the UNESCO Cultural and Natural World Heritage list.

After you visit Auschwitz-Birkenau, head to the Wieliczka salt mine, one of the most treasured monuments in Polish cultural history. Over a million tourists from around the world visit the salt mine yearly to see its exquisite carvings and reliefs.

This unique place is listed on the UNESCO Cultural and Natural World Heritage List since 1978 placing it even higher on tourists' "to-do list". See the work of miners, who left dozens of sculptures and bas-reliefs cut out of the salt, keeping their work alive for decades.

We had the Auschwitch-Birkenau and Salt mine guided tour with pick-up. Everything was well-organised. Our driver Milo, was on time, friendly, polite and ready to explain everything to us. The guides we had were both polite and ready to accept questions. We had a unique experience although a bit tiring as it takes you many hours to visit both sights on the same day.

It’s a long day, & despite having a great driver it only took a few customer’s late at the collection points to put a squeeze on the day’s schedule. I got this trip half price in a sale, I’d have felt a little disappointed if it had cost twice as much

Very complete day to Auschwitz-Birkenau & salt mine Driver/guide was right on time. we were the first to be picked up and had to pick up some more after that. we were 5 in small van. First we went to Auschwitz. here a guide was waiting for us for the tour. After this tour we went to Birkenau. our guide from Auschwitz was here too. We also got a tour here. The guide was very good. On the way to the salt mine we stopped at a bbq place to eat a sausage or something else. Then we went to the salt mine. Beforehand we had some free time to have a drink. The tour of the salt mine is a lot of walking and takes 2 hours. very commercial, but worth doing. Good driver from Legendary Krakow. Forgot name unfortunately. Thanks it was a nice day!!
