Full description

Visit Auschwitz on a day trip from Krakow. Learn about the history of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camps during a guided tour with a certified historian and guide. Auschwitz-Birkenau was founded in 1940 by Nazi Germany and was the largest concentration camp operated by the Nazis. It became the final resting place for millions of people, mostly Jews and Poles, who were murdered in gas chambers. Pass through the gate with the inscription "Arbeit macht frei" to enter Auschwitz I, where your guide will show you around the preserved area and explain the history of the site.

Then, visit the second camp at Birkenau, where mass killings took place as part of the Nazi "Final Solution to the Jewish Question."

Despite knowing the horrors that happened here, nothing could prepare you for what you see in this place. The whole experience was eye-opening and well worth a visit. Trip wise, the transport was smooth; we were told the night before about a delay and where to meet the bus, which was on on time with the new schedule. Make sure you keep the whole day free as timings can change. you can take a backpack on the bus but not into the museum, however we were allowed to leave them on the bus. dress appropriately, it was a hot day so we saw many people wearing shorts and t-shirts so don't stress too much about that. Our bus guide, Sebastian, was lovely and our tour guide, a lovely lady whose name I can't remember, was so good at telling us the stories and recounts of what happened here. Overall, well worth the cost and time.

Would definitely recommend this tour. Picked up from meeting point at accurate time. Our tour guide around Auschwitz was amazing! There are lots of people at Auschwitz, but it’s very organised so you have enough time to see everything and you are not wanting around to long for the group in front of you. The tour was meant to start at 7am but we got a message through the day before saying it had changed to 9.55am. (However, it doesn’t mention this on the information) Overall Amazing!

An excellent trip, with a knowledgeable and interesting guide called Anna. Everything was very well-organised and went smoothly. We felt we had the right amount of time at both sites and the use of headphones linked to our guide made it suitably low-key. An extremely worthwhile, interesting and moving trip. The sites are well-preserved and tastefully presented to convey the terrible events which should never be forgotten. Highly recommend booking with this company and having a guide- even though we knew quite a bit before.
