We went with Super Krakow, we made out own way to the meeting point. We got WhatsApp messages before to explain exactly where and when to meet. We booked 10am and got meet at 11:40 for 12:00 entry. A rep met us, gave us tickets, group stickers and explained what we were to do and what would happen. Guide, Marta, had very good English and took good care of the group of about 20 or so, even after we went on to Austwitz II. I'm not saying much about the tour but Austwitz I has exhibitions and Austwitz II has the train tracks and Barracks. The sheer scale of everything is mind-boggling. I recommend reading the PDF guide from the main Austwitz website before going to give you information, to cope and prepare yourself for what you will see and hear. We got the shuttle bus, which is very frequent between the sites, you need to hide, remove your group sticker. Super Krakow looked after us well, the guide, rep and WhatsApp messages and it was an enjoyable, stress free tour. Thank you.

Full description

Visit the Auschwitz-Birkenau Concentration Camp on a guided tour with a WWII expert. Explore the history of this infamous complex and learn about the tragic events that took place in it. See the original barracks in which prisoners were held to fully understand their situation. Meet your guide near the museum entrance, receive your entrance ticket, and go through security to join your group. Pass through the famous "Arbeit macht frei" gate to enter Auschwitz I, where your guide will show you around the original preserved site and explain its touching history. After a short break, visit the second camp in Birkenau, where mass murders were carried out as part of the Nazi "Final Solution to the Jewish Problem".

  • The tour can take place between 7:30 AM and 3:00 PM. You can choose your preferred start time, but the exact starting time will be sent to you the day before the tour
  • As per the requirements of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum, please provide your full name and contact details as part of the booking
  • It is not permitted to enter the museum with large bags or backpacks (the maximum size permitted is 20 x 30 cm)
  • After completing the visit to Auschwitz I, there is a 15-minute break. During this time, you should go to the car parking area in Brzezinka by your own transport (2 km). If you came to the museum by public transport, inform your tour leader about it before starting the tour, which will help you to reach Birkenau
  • For reasons beyond the operator's control, the tour may be canceled. The customer will always receive a full refund

It was absolutely heartbreaking. It doesn’t matter how much you know about Auschwitz - you don’t realise how extreme and inhumane it was until you’re standing in the middle of the camp in a never ending field and visit the victims’ so-called “home”. Me and my partner had a very silent train journey back into Krakow, we just did not know what to say after seeing what we saw. Everyone should visit Auschwitz-Birkenau at least once in their lifetime. Regarding the tour itself, it was amazing. Our guide was very informative and on time. We were given a few breaks and freedom to roam around at our own pace at times. Please pack some tissues because you will shed a tear even if you think you won’t.
