Full description

Learn about one of the darkest chapters in 20th-century European history on this guided tour of Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum.

Make your own way to the Auschwitz-Birkenau museum in your own vehicle or by public transport (bus or train). The journey from Krakow takes approximately 1.5 hours. When you arrive, meet your host who will give you your ticket and introduce you to the group.

Skip the queue line with pre-booked entrance and pass through the airport security-style check before entering the Memorial. Inside the Auschwitz I museum, embark on a guided walking tour with a professional certified educator for approximately 1.5 - 2 hours. After that, take a bus to the Auschwitz Birkenau II memorial for a 1-hour guided walking tour.

After this, walk around on your own and spend time as long as you want inside Auschwitz-Birkenau II. Return to your hotel by bus, car or train yourself (transport is not included in the price).

Please be aware that the lunch break is only about 10 minutes, so it is advisable if you bring a packed lunch with you.

The tour was very interesting and well conducted. The quick entry point is nonsense. Our event was moved from 10:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. the evening before and the tickets that were bought in advance by the tour guides said 1:30 p.m. That led to subsequent problems, including for us, since we also planned other things for the time afterwards. Here the appointments must be kept better so that the planning of the individual can be taken into account.

We were told to be in front of the activity about 15 minutes early. We arrived 20 minutes early. We understand that if you tell us to be there 15 minutes before, at least 5 or 10 minutes before the activity, the guide will appear. Well, it appeared later and it wasn't a guide from Get your guide, but they put us with another group from another guide. We had a hard time locating it... and we started the visit late. This guide was only to get us the tickets and join another group. Once inside we had an official guide from the museum who showed us the museum of Auswich and Bikernau, the visit and this guide a 10. The rest I think is simple bad management and when the groups do not arrive, they group different companies.

Find out who the person was who was the group leader. Everything else perfectly arranged. A very clear English speaking guide, who not only told about the atrocities and history, but also made you think and stimulated to search for yourself on the internet, in books for more information and backgrounds about this terrible episode in history. The tour was also intended to make the young generation aware that this happened and should never be repeated, but also asked the question, what would you do yourself if you grew up with false propaganda and you know no better than that the truth is. When the whole society is built on false propaganda. Who tells the truth, who do you believe? A very good way to present history to the younger generations. Top!
