    Eye opening and humbling

Great trip out for the morning. We booked a 7 hr trip but only out for about 6. Pick up very early but believe this ensured we missed the crowds. Either way, lovely transport and a film on the way about the soviet liberation (not so lovely but needed to set the tone). Would have liked longer in Birkenau and to explore a few other ‘buildings’. Didn’t get a lot of time for a proper look. Guide great but very keen to lead from the front so to ask any additional questions on a 121 basis, had to run to catch up. Everyone should make it here at least once in their lifetime. These people knew hardship and pain.

    Essential yet harrowing

The trip was very well organised. Our guide was amazing, managed to keep up going even when the crowding was challenging. Harrowing to think of what happened here and times when you could not avoid feeling emotional. We think this can’t happen again and then we think of China, Tibet etc we really need to learn the lessons of the past, no one is better than anyone else, no one deserves to be treated as sub human.

    Emotional and Eye Opening Experience

The driver was very punctual and the documentary gave us a good glimpse of what was to come. The guide on site spoke from the heart and she explained everything she knew. She was very experienced, although her English may take some effort to be understood. The van was a little cramped but overall was a worthwhile experience.
