What to Expect
Sea kayaking is a great way to explore Krabi's beautiful scenery without damaging the environment. You can move slowly and almost unnoticed through different coastal zones while passing mangrove forests, canyons, caves, and lagoons.
Enjoy sea kayaking on a guided tour with a variety of options. Choose from a half-day or full-day experience, and go kayaking in Ao Thalane, Hong Island lagoon, or both. Before beginning you will receive basic instruction.
During the day, you’ll be able to observe wildlife up close. While at Ao Thalane, you can spot several species of birds, as well as monkeys, in particular the crab-eating macaque. Meanwhile, Hong Island is home to a fabulous array of towering limestone cliffs that enclose the small sea with wonderful sandy beaches. Underneath the water there are the abundant beds of coral, bright-colored crabs, and many tropical fish that you can see while snorkeling.
Your tour also includes lunch, snacks, and refreshments.
Mangrove Forest at Ao Thalane
About halfway along the coast between Than Bok Korani National Park and Krabi town is one of the most beautiful bay located in Thailand. Ao Thalane, which is surrounded by towering karst formations and many small offshore islands, offers many narrow channels and canyons which are ideal for kayaking. Enter small passageways and discover this diverse ecosystem in a undeveloped environment and without the horrendous crowds.
Koh Hong which is also called Koh Lao Billeh is famous for its hidden lagoon in the middle of the island. "Hong" literally means "room" in Thai. Enjoy the spectacular view while paddling around the island and in the crystal clear emerald sea with many coral reefs and colourful fish.
