It was less extreme than we expected according to the low river level. However, we still had a great time, the guides were truly amazing, the views were breathtaking and we had a lot of fun. If you need a high river level is better to go rafting in April.

It was an amazing day!!! It’s about a 2 hour drive away, very scenic and so worth it!! Our Guide Nina was lovely and told us lots about Montenegro on the way!! We had never been white water rafting before but it was a fantastic experience! We got there and had breakfast at about 10.30 then it was wet suits, helmets and boots (all provided) and 20 mins drive up to the start. We had a swim half way down in a tranquil part of the river and a few did the cliff jumping! Not for me!! (At age 59 felt adventurous enough doing the rafting!!) Visited waterfalls had another dip!! And a beer!!! Very very memorable!! Only one query, the raft guide took lots of film but don’t know how to get hold of it? We got back to Kotor about 7 pm.

Travel from Kotor, Budva or Tivat to the Tara River Canyon on this 12-hour excursion. The canyon is 1,333 meters deep, making it the deepest in Europe and the second-deepest in the world, after the Grand Canyon of the Colorado River in the U.S.

The river itself is 146 kilometers long, and most of it, including the canyon, is protected by UNESCO. The river is ideal for whitewater rafting and is characterized by its spectacular beauty and diversity of wildlife.

Detailed Itinerary:
7:00 AM – Depart from Kotor, Budva or Tivat
10:30 AM – Arrive in Šćepan Polje and have breakfast
11:30 AM – Arrive in Brštanovica (starting point of rafting)
12:00 PM - 3:00 PM – Whitewater rafting on the most attractive rapids of the Tara River, short break, time for photos, swimming; arrival in Šćepan Polje, lunch at a restaurant on the river bank
4:00 PM – Return to Kotor, Budva or Tivat with a few stops possible en route
