Full description

See the picturesque countryside of Montenegro on a guided tour from Kotor. Admire clear lakes, spectacular coasts, the famous Ostrog Monastery, and more.

Take your first photo stop shortly after leaving Kotor and capture the beauty of two nearby islands, Our Lady of the Rocks and Saint George. Move to higher elevations for a second photo stop above Risan Bay.

Continue to Nikšić, the second biggest city in Montenegro, and make another stop for pictures at the artificial Salty Lake. Take a much-needed breakfast break after your morning sightseeing and enjoy some tasty local food and drink.

Drive towards Mount Durmitor, where rocky peaks rise high into the sky. Pass dense pine and colorful deciduous forest. Stop at Đurđevića Tara Bridge, the highest in Europe when built in 1940. Cross the 365-meter-long bridge, 172 meters above the canyon floor if you´d like.

Proceed to the hidden jewel of Durmitor National Park, the majestic Black Lake, among 18 glacial lakes above 1,500 meters on Durmitor Mountain. All together they are called "Mountain Eyes". Embark on a hike on the 4-kilometer trail around the lake.

Stop at Žabljak, the highest town in the Balkans, located at 1,450 meters above sea level. Dine on a lunch of traditional Montenegrin food. Afterward, hit the road towards the most visited spiritual site in Montenegro, the Ostrog Monastery.

Begin your ascent up the narrow and winding road close to sunset, enjoying spectacular views of the highly-perched monastery. View the relics of the monk Vasilije Ostroški, who founded the place. Return to Kotor at the end of your tour.

The tour was great even though very tiring. We started the tour at 06.10 from Budva then headed to Kotor to pick up other people. We waited there for half an hour. The tour covered all things we wanted to see which is why it is so great. We stopped at specific places for optional breakfast and lunch which were both nice. The tour guide was very good and explained many things during the way. The ultimate for me was the Black Lake where we stopped for 1 hour. A bit longer at the lake would be great. At Tara bridge there is the option to go on the zip line if you would like. The road leading to Ostrog monastery is quite narrow and with curves howwver the driver drove us carefully to the top. We came back home at 22.30.

A very nice trip through half of Montenegro! You really get to see a lot in a single day and Slavko (our guide) was very funny and informative. But you should be aware that it is an extremely long day from early in the morning to late in the evening and that you sit on the bus a lot to get from A to B. I'm still glad I did it, I won't soon forget the stops on this excursion! I even dared to try the zipline over the Tara Gorge, an unforgettable experience!

Excellent guide (Luca!) and loads of wonderful experiences. The day was planned incredibly well. We were out for 14 hours but the trip was so well planned so that driving times never felt like much more than an hour as they were broken up by at least short stops to stretch your legs or get some scenic photos. Luca was very knowledgeable told the stories so well and was always keen to talk more. Breakfast with the group was fun, planned in advance to keep us moving and spend most of the day experiencing instead of waiting. The black lake made for a beautiful walk and Ostrog monastery was so beautiful and it was a really poignant visit. We stayed just long enough to see everything, walk around and then move on. Thank you for the great trip. I would highly recommend this to people and to urge then not to be put off by the length. In Luca's words, we were dropped off tired but in a good way. Thank you
